Such spider does not require ball joint use and supports laminated and not tempered glass (or laminated and tempered one, according to your need) to be assembled on its four angles.

Glass panels, once perforated and treated, can be single or double, ever tempered in order to be resistant against strong stresses around the holes.
Ball joints make glass fixed to the frame; they are of many sorts, as Faraone's catalogue shows, but all are made of AISI 316 stainless steel and fit countersunk or straight glass holes.
Ball joint heads are articulated in order to allow the glass its expansion and free movement. They are allocated into the glass and locked by a threaded ring nut.
Stainless steel parts in bolts never touch directly the glass but are insulated by nylon or aluminium washers or/and bushings.
Ball joints for insulating glass must be equipped with an appropriate aluminium bushing, put in between two glass panels before coupling. The bushing is milled on surfaces getting in touch with glass; groove coming from milling have to be insulated with a coat of silicone or butyl.
Moreover, once the glass panels are coupled, the bushing is definitively sealed to wholly insulate the hole from the inside of glass.
After fixing ball joints into the glass panel, this one is mounted on the structure with spiders by inserting ball joints into their slots and fixing them by bolts.

Frame made of tempered or hard-tempered/stratified glass mullion, subjected to the HST test; its section is suitable for having the required mechanical resistance, always after accurate evaluation.
The mullion is placed on vertical and shearing position in order to maintain the right durability.
Glazing fixing to the wall or many panels' junction in height are to be made by suitable stainless steel or steelcoated fittings, always provided with proper shock resistant gaskets.
Glazings are drilled for housing bolts in order to fix by metal fittings and spiders
